I put Ethan Swanegan's name on the GPC radar a few weeks back when I watched him play against Olathe North. Came away very impressed with his intangibles and the high ceiling he could have for the next level as just a junior.

Well, evidently those thoughts have been echoed by the K-State staff too. They've invited Swanegan up for an unofficial visit this weekend to see the program for the first time. Swanegan told me he and Taylor Braet set everything up a few days ago, not long after he released his latest highlight tape.

Swanegan certainly looks the part in pads. He's 6'5" and probably closing in on 210 lbs. (a very lean 210). He doesn't burst off the blocks the way you'd like to see in a receiver, but he runs good routes and has soft hands. I think with proper strength and conditioning, he'd be one hell of a pass-catching tight end because he has a frame to stack on 20-30 lbs. easily. He already blocks well when Blue Springs South slides him against the line in jumbo/run sets, and he has enough speed to separate if he's going against a smaller linebacker.

K-State probably has plenty of time with this recruitment because my gut says fellow Power 5 schools will want to see more senior tape next fall before offering, but it's a great sign they're getting involved early. Remember, Swanegan's teammate, kicker Jake Roark, is already committed to K-State for 2016 as a preferred walk-on.
