Some general thoughts / facts:
K-State was picked to finish 8th in the Big 12.
Snyder's youngest starting team ....EVER.
CATS came so very close to beating WV & Okie State.... (still stings).
And it's too bad that K-State couldn't have played Stanford in the third non-con game versus the first game of the season (chance of winning = much higher).
The CATS only got beat soundly once this season = OU.
And is seemed like K-State was starting to get something going in the OU game, when Ertz got knocked out of the game.
Before the season began, most GPC posters predicted 6 or 7 regular season wins for the CATS.
There were probably more posters that predicted 5 wins, than posters that predicted 8 wins.
Even most of the purple Koolaid drinkers did not predict more than 8 regular season wins.
K-State finished in sole possession of 4th place in the Big 12.
The young players stepped up and peformed well (a lot of promise for next season).
And our starting QB has had a banged up throwing shoulder that has limited his down-field passing.
I know there are a group of posters on here that have complained and cried about coaching all season. I admit, sometimes the play calling has been frustrating (or lack of execution)... and yes, I wish the coaches would have given Barnes more carries earlier in the season .... but by in large, a pretty darn good coaching job.
These same posters, complain about recruiting as well.
I mean, K-State coaches cannot recruit good players and they cannot ccoach.... but some fricking way, the CATS exceed expectations.
And how did K-State end up with the best defense in the Big 12 with no players and no coaching ? Total Defense & Scoring Defense.
But do not let any facts influence your thinking = our coaches suck... ha ha.
I mean TCU recruits MUCH better than K-State and TCU has MUCH better coaching (RIGHT ?).
Maybe Coach Snyder is a Wizard.
If the Legend wants to come back for another year = I'm all for it.
Second year with the same QB and basically the entire offense returns (I like the sound of that).
Granted, the CATS will lose some good players on defense = Jordan Willis, Dante Barnett, Mike Moore, & Donnie Starks (but there are some players ready to step-in).
Speaking of some back-ups that looked good today = Tanking & Cre Moore.
Message to Currie: If the Legend decides to retire, PLEASE do not hire Jerry Kill (Jerry has health issues and he didn't do anything great at Minnesota... he had a 500 record at Minnesota and a 14 & 21 Big 10 record).
GO STATE !
