After more than three years at GoPowercat, I am giving up my position on the staff.
I’ve been asked to take on an expanding role at my other job, and it is in the best interest of GPC and myself to apply my journalistic focus to just one outlet. This was not an easy decision, but one I knew had to come at some point, and now is a good time.
I want to express great appreciation for everyone who made my time here special. Tim Fitzgerald took a chance when he hired me, and gave me opportunities young journalists dream of. I covered K-State football for four seasons, which included some of the best moments in program history, and four bowl games.
This fall, I will resume covering K-State in a similar capacity at my other job. But it will be a challenge to do so without the fun, welcoming atmosphere at the World Headquarters on Moro Street. Fitz deserves a ton of credit for taking his business to where it is now. It wouldn’t be possible without his great eye for the industry, and I have no doubt it will continue to grow.
I also have to thank D. Scott and Brett for being so great to me. They are both superb at their jobs and set the bar very high for my own work. To the office staff, especially Jason, thank you for holding down the fort and keeping everything in order.
I’m wishing the best of luck to Andrew, as well, who will be taking over some of my assignments. He’s one of the friendliest guys I’ve met in the industry, so I encourage everyone on Wabash to welcome him.
Thank you, one final time, to the subscribers. You are the fuel that makes this business go, and I appreciate the feedback I’ve received from many of you over the years.
