What’s your favorite venue, not located in Manhattan, KS, that you have watched a live sporting event? Stadium, arena, etc. It could be a Churchill Downs type venue as well. Whatever fits your description.

I’ve seen some historic stadiums, some modern facilities, many of the 1970s cookie cutter eyesores. Wrigley Field was awesome before they trashed it up with all of the gawdy “renovations”, Fenway is intimate and full of history, Soldier Field has changed a ton over the years, the Cotton Bowl is a dump. The Metrodome was straight up dangerous, the Astrodome is better off as a homeless shelter, and the Braves build a new stadium every 5 years.

My favorite , hands down, was Old Yankee Stadium. It was in some disrepair and many of the 70s renovations had erased some of the original look but even in the final days of that place it just oozed old-time baseball. I’m actually a Yankee-hater if anything but you couldn’t deny the sense of nostalgia that place had. The new place is nice, the fans are still idiots, and the softball field dimensions in right field haven’t changed but it doesn’t feel like Yankee Stadium anymore.
