In the big 12, every team has a gauntlet in February. I appreciate announcers (other than ours) saying there are no lower tier teams. The records at this point would support that. I thought if we were 16-6 at this point it would be great. How many of you would have said we would be 18-4?
February creates a whole different set of expectations or hopes. We play 4 games at home, each being a top 20 team. We play 3 on the road against 3 unranked teams that have won a “big” game at home. My hope is that we do win our home games and one of the road games. That’s 5-2 in February and an overall record of 23-6 heading into March. I believe this team can do it.
Nothing is easy but certainly possible.
