@ksufreak has mentioned time and time again about guys being miscast into roles and usages that don't naturally fit what they have to offer. After last year, I tend to agree with him. While there is likely to be some of this regularly as players transition into new offenses and defenses, what freak has brought up goes well beyond that. A few examples...

Mak being asked to slim down to play the 4 and then being moved back to the 5 after the other 5s weren't available/ready.

Carti playing the 1 and initiating offense when he was probably better suited being off the ball catching and shooting or attacking off the dribble. Or being asked to be Barry Brown 2.0 instead of Cartier Diarra 1.0.

Letting X dictate his position on offense when the team clearly had a roster better built for small ball (all the 5s didn't or couldn't play).

All that said, let's turn our focus to this year. It seems like Bruce got caught up into pegging dudes into Dean and Barry's roles. Do we now have a roster that is better constructed to fill the roles that Bruce desires? Now, these roles Bruce wants to peg people into seems to center on the offensive side of the ball. This roster looks perfectly constructed to play the type of D Bruce and CL want. But what about offense? If Bruce sticks with the roles and usages he had with Dean and Barry, who will fill them?

Thoughts?
