When it comes to recruiting.

Reading Cartier Diarra's commitment story - They had coaches in contact with him everyday - the very least with a text.

I realize the football coaching staff isn't going to make any major changes in recruiting during the season, but upping the game a little bit from what they are currently doing wouldn't hurt.

Each coach could be assigned a kid to keep weekly contact with. Text. Call. Email. Tweet. Facebook. Facetime or Skype. Something is better than nothing.

Recruiting methods have changed a ton since the 90's. Kids have changed. It is a different culture than 15-20 years ago. Kids are so much more connected via technology. Coaches have so much more at their disposal to keep in contact with recruits. It is guaranteed that when we are battling other P5 schools for a kid - when we are silent for weeks even months, it leaves a void for other schools to create a connection - just by doing the little things that really count - sometimes even more than a home visit.

If there is one thing that Bill and his staff could learn from Weber, it is how to use technology in order to keep up with the recruits on a more consistent basis.

I understand things won't change, which is frustrating because it is really not that hard to put more emphasis on recruiting these days. It is just a matter of connecting with the kids using the technology they use every day, all day.
