Our football program brings a lot of money into the university and takes care of many of our minor sports as well. We would not have the nice stadiums around KSU or the many new buildings on campus without the success of Bill Snyder. His success has driven the growth of Kansas State. Those of us that recall what it was like before Bill Snyder are grateful and feel he deserves some loyalty and respect for what he has done and what he still does in the lives of all the young men in his program and beyond. Keep that in mind when you try to suggest he hasn't earned the money willingly gifted by KSU admirers and alumni. We all would like to win every game, but no university does that year in year out. We also understand he is a legend for a reason and legends don't come around very often. So pardon us that love the man that built not only our football program but our university as well. I know I get very defensive when I read all the crap about its time for him and his staff to go because they are too old. Those young men on our team are here because they want to play under a legend like Bill Snyder. Because he will make them better adults and people beyond football. They work hard and don't quit because of our staff. Some of us are proud of the Christian family feeling his staff promotes. So pardon us if we disagree with you that we ought to move on to new coaches that are unproven. Not many head coaches want to follow a legend and live in his shadow. Look around the country and see how many head coaches get fired every year that have been hired that were suppose to bring the success we have enjoyed. Look at Texas and their revolving door for head coaches. We see possibilities on this team and love our boys, our staff and our traditions. Snyder and his staff have years of experience and have forgotten more about football then most of the available unproven coaches we could bring in. Be grateful for every year we can keep him at the helm of our program. Finding a winning staff is no easy matter and far from a regular occurance. Because he is in his 70's doesn't mean he has lost his ability to coach. There are a lot of young men that couldn't keep up with his schedule. As long as his health is good and he wants to lead this program we are grateful. He loves what he is doing and we still need him. I know if he doesn't think he can help us he will step down. I dread the day it happens because I don't want to see our program lose the family spirit and putting our players first he has brought to KSU.
