Does anyone know what the story was as to why Matthys left K-State two years ago? He had an amazing freshman season and started the final game of the Super Regional against Oregon State. Then he had an awful sophomore season and transferred out, finally landing at Southwest Minnesota State. Last year he went 0-7 with a 10.68 ERA there.
Maybe I'm a bit confused and I don't want to jump to conclusions, but how the hell does this dude become Big 12 Freshman of the year and then end up with that kind of story. I mean you don't want to just guess, but were steroids in play? It just seems impossible to drop that far, that fast.
It looks like he is at Angelo State for his senior year this year. Anyone with insight on this please jump in.
