For years every town in Nebraska gave a scholarship to NU. The scholarship could be used for any purpose. NU had over 100 players, guess what, all the walk ons had community scholarships. So Osborne had a huge advantage over other schools. One of the advantages of being the only big time school in the state. I think they were forced to abandon that phase of the program shortly after our throw in the snow game. Be interesting for one of you young scholars to check out to see if this is still in effect.
