I was listening to 810 yesterday morning (rare occassion for me, but was interested in what was being said about the NCAA tourney). Before Stan Weber, they had Gabe DeArmond on.
For those of you don't know, DeArmond is a Mizzou homer, who manages the Mizzou rival site.
Yesterday, DeArmond was on 810 with the morning show talking about Mizzery. He said that he doesn't judge a team by what they do in March. He was trying to say that he doesn't think winning in March is the "tell all" for how good a season a team has.
Well, I can agree that a team can have a good year and struggle in March, doesn't erase what the team did in the prior 4 months.... BUT BUT BUT
Everything a team does in November, December, January, & February is all about MARCH.
How oftern do you hear someone say that a non-con game in December could have an impact in March when the NCAA selection committee is evaluating your team.
March is when a regular season conference champsionship is usually determined.
March is when a team can win a conference tournament championship (auto bid).
March is when a team can find a way in (or find a way out) of the NCAA tourney.
March is when a team can make a historic run in the NCAA tourney.
March is when a team can win a national championship.
Heck, March is when you can make a deep run or win the NIT (TCU had fun with it last year).
Simply Put = a school hang banners for what a team does in MARCH.
Gabe, get out of here with your weak ass sh#t. Everyone knows that Mizzery has never been to a Final Four. A positive = Mizzery drastically improved over last season, you can feel good about that, but don't come on the radio and try to down-play the importance of March, you make yourself look silly.
GO STATE !
