Man that game was all over the place. Very hard to watch at times and then very entertaining and encouraging at others. Glad the Cats pulled out a win, but they simply have to be better going forward and a good amount of that starts with the coaching staff.
Positives
- Skylar made some nice throws and took what the defense gave him in the second half, 24/30 for 296 and a tuddy. Great game from him.
- King Felix is a MONSTER
- Young Nate Matlack had 2 sacks on the day, and the game sealing one on 4th and 14th. Bright future for this kid!
- Brents and Boye-Doe made some plays in coverage and Brents had a big play on the edge late helping string out the RB for a loss
- Deuce was Deuce, loved the jet sweep to him getting him out in space when we were down near the goal line
- Imatorbhebhe got involved and made a nice play today down the field
- Yeast was a little up and down today at times, but had the pick and helped make the TFL with Elder to set up King Felix and Matlack back to back sacks to finish it
- Ty Zentner had a great game and his punt helped set up the safety. Fantastic kickoff from way backed up as well that Landry Weber made a great tackle on
- Tyrone Howell had a great catch and downed the punt that lead to the safety
- Cooper Beebe is a MAN
- Kade Warner made some plays for us and kept drives moving
- Landry wasn’t always great, but made enough plays to be a net positive for us
- Saw some adjustments from Mess with more passing and 5 wide sets that worked (didn’t always love some of our unimaginative run calls up the middle in certain situations)
Negatives
- Two false start penalties on the freaking fullback. TWO?!? Duffie had 2 as well
- While on the subject of two, TWO freaking plays for Tech to score at the very beginning. Just awful, especially after what happened last week
- Ross Elder absolutely lost on the long pass play to the TE
- Malik coughing up the ball on the kickoff and handing them a short field for another TD
- Nick Lenners stretching for a first down that he already had and fumbling late in an important situation that we later overcame
- 12 total penalties for 93 yards. Just awful. And penalties have become a consistent theme hurting us
- Malik unsportsmanlike conduct penalty
- Tackling was nonexistent at times
- Skylar’s mobility is not good. But then why are we running zone read?!? Basically just fell down for a sack at one point (He did make a couple nice scrambles)

- Mixed up Tyrone Taleni and Cooper Beebe
- Couldn't figure out if player was Aamaris Brown or Jaelon Travis
- Terrible Andy Griffith Matlock-Matlack joke
- Stated incorrect down and distance and it wasn't close
- Mixed up the Tech QB’s at one point. One guy is white with long hair out the back of his helmet and the other is black and is a much better runner
- Made generic statements galore about KSU not beating themselves
