Feel that the general discord about this team is somewhat overblown. They are already at 7 wins--a total exceeding most reasonable expectations. The down side is the realization that KSU literally blew 2 games it controlled. This is what is galling the majority here. Would the outcry be less if OSU and WV been more dominant? I don't have the answer.
I can tell you I've been very critical of the secondary this year. It is outrageous how consistent huge plays are given up by the DBS. Barnett has been terrible this year. Expected much better. Tackling also has been very poor. The lions share of disappointment lays squarely on the defensive side of the ball IMO.
I also feel the offense has been given a bad rep. 2 of the losses can be attributed to the offense (Stanford and WV). OU was a total team loss. OSU can be placed on the D. Further, the TT, UT, ISU and KU games were much closer than they needed because of the D.
HCBS will retire. Whenever it occurs KSU will find a coach--and all on this bbs will be critical. Recruiting MAY improve. Personally I don't think KSU recruiting rankings will improve significantly with a new staff. I hope I'm wrong.
Regardless I feel all wish nothing but the best for this program. Others disagree with these OPINIONS and that is fine. Their opinions are equally valid. Go STATE!!!
