an 82-83 K-State Men's Basketball media guide. Beloved Jack Hartman was head coach with former player Darryl Winston one of his top assistants. Found the roster make-up interesting considering what has transpired in the past year in the current men's program. This was Hartman's 13th season as the head coach at K-State and they were coming off a 23-8 season that went 2-1 in the NCAA tourney
Seniors (2) - Les Craft, Ed Galvao
Juniors (0)
Sophomores (4) - Lafayette Watkins, Kenny Williams, Neal Degner, Eddie Elder
Freshmen (7) - Parker Laketa (RS), Tyrone Jackson, Jim Roder, Ben Mitchell, Jonas Cody, Alex Williams, Fred Marshall
Clearly something happened that far into Hartman's tenure to have that large of a roster imbalance and understandably that very young team struggled ending up 12-16
After that season, Kenny Williams, Neal Degner and Fred Marshall moved on, brought in two junior transfers, Tom Alfaro and Eric Watson, NO freshmen
