Been playing a lot more terrible golf lately, and getting less terrible with my irons and enjoying that a lot.
I don't own any fairway woods, and have one used Tour Edge driver with a decent sized dent that came with the used Irons when I bought them like 15 years ago.
Thinking of potentially buying a Driver, 3 and 5 wood set somewhere.
I'm sure it's a matter of you get what you pay for, but am not paying $500, or even really wanting to spend $200 total.
I'm okay with used sets, and have been looking at a lot of off-brands like PGX instead of PXG, Alien, Orlimar, etc... and everything I read says those brands can take 10-20% off your drive.
Being a terrible golfer, that's not a huge issue for me, I just don't want it to break the first time I top it or eat too much turf.
Anyone have any suggestions for "cheaper" brands that aren't total junk?
Played in a fundraiser 2-man scramble with double bogey being the cap a few weeks ago, and we managed to get single bogey 4 times in 18 holes if that gives you any idea as to how amazing I am at golf.
TIA.
