In my opinion, here is what was good, bad and ugly from this week:
Good - Bill seemed more engaged in this game than several others and the coaches and team seemed to respond with more purpose in the first half. I would have to watch tape to confirm but I know at the Vandy game and one other I often saw Bill without a headset. Yesterday he always had it on. That is good because hopefully it means his health/recovery is improving and this staff can't do it without him involved.
Bad - Dimel/Snyder and the coaches on O overreacting to one mistake. This is a recurring theme. Delton threw a pick on a questionable call/throw...and we go right back to exclusively running the QB. The RBs disappeared from the play calling as did any passes that we're either on our terms or had a snowballs chance of getting a first down.
Ugly - the enormous talent gap between us and OU. There will always be some gap due to resources, location, etc. but it shouldn't be that big. Our best teams had mostly starters who were comparable, one or two who were better and two who were not on their level but were still good athletes. We are just way too slow, especially on D, to be a contender for the Big 12 title game.
