Long time listener but rarely (maybe never I don't remember for sure) post.

First, in case I don't post again on this forum (which is likely) I want to say that while I love the other KSU site's editor and have subscribed on and off there - this site's team is doing an absolutely amazing job of covering KSU b-ball and football in a detailed and analytical way with lots of coverage, insights, opinions that rise above what I've seen in the past on other sites. For example I've wished that KSU could have coverage similar to what Will (can't think of his last name) provides for Va Tech football - detailed breakdowns of positions, recruiting etc. Listening to the podcast and using a trial membership here has really made it clear that KSU fans are enjoying what is in my opinion one of the top uni coverage sites that exists. Great job KSO staff - love you guys.

Anyway on to the point of my post (probably the same point that's been made lots of times on this board in various forms): I like a lot of things about Bill, but it seems that he's really losing his grip and doesn't understand how to compete well in today's athletics. Issues like lack of recruiting staff, lack of recruiting commitment, undermining his players and staff in public, and allowing this level of discontent on the team and fanbase to explode seems like he is not running the sort of ship he used to run a decade or two ago. His insistence on crowing Sean as the next HC is also really off-putting.

The Skylar issue seems like just one example of many similar problems recently - player, coach, personnel, and recruiting issues. I think it's pretty clear from 3rd party grades (PFF, team opinion, staff opinion, fan opinion, analyst opinion) that Skylar should be the starting QB just like Barnes should be the starting RB and Zuber a starting WR. Similar distance at all of those positions imo from the top starter to the next guy. Delton may improve but currently shouldn't be starting. I like him, nice kid, great guy, talented guy - but not currently a guy who should be starting at QB for this team.

It'd be fantastic to see Bill pass the team on to one of his current assistants (one chosen by KSU admin not by Bill) or Leavitt and let the program try to move forward. KSU football may stumble or go down hard but if he stays I don't see this as a rising team - instead it seems like a crumbling edifice that may lose a large number of players and good young coaches in the next year or two while still being unable to bring in the sort of recruits that the program needs. I think it's pretty clear we are physically outmatched in a lot of games at almost every position on the field. I understand KSU isn't a recruiting powerhouse but we need to be closer in terms of talent on the field than we are.

It's really frustrating and sad to see this unfold. Hard to watch. Ah well I care but I guess I don't care a lot since I follow lots of sports and teams - I'm going to try to detach a little more and wait for the years to catch up to Bill so KSU can turn a fresh page to see what comes next. I look forward to those days in 1, or 5 or 10 years...god I hope it's not longer than that...perish the thought. :)
