Harbaugh is the highest paid coach next to Saban (his first year, he was the highest paid coach with a $2 mil bonus). Harbaugh is racking in $7 million per year. I believe Saban is around $7.2

2012 Michigan had the #7 ranked recruit class
2013 Michigan landed the #5 ranked recruit class.
2014 Michigan had the #31 ranked recruit class.
2015 (Harbaugh’s first class) #50 recruit class (a bit deceiving, Michigan only had 14 commits).
2016 (Harbaugh’s second class) = #4 ranked recruit class
2017 (Harbaugh’s third class) = #4
In short, Harbaugh has had some pretty good talent to work with at Michigan.

Michigan and Kansas State finished the year with the same record and the same conference record. K-State won their bowl game, Michigan did not.

Both schools had a disappointing year given pre-season hype.
Both teams had their starting QB injured.

K-State had one bad loss on the season = Vandy.
Michigan doesn’t have a bad loss, but the Wolverines don’t have a good win either… unless you count their opening game against Florida (the Gators finished their season with 4 wins and fired their coach).

In fact, Michigan did not beat a team with a winning regular season record. They beat one team that went to a bowl game, 6 & 6 Purdue.

Michigan finished their season with 3 straight losses.
K-State finished their season with 3 wins (including a Top 10 road win).

2017 was Harbaugh’s 3rd year at Michigan. Most pundits will tell you that year 3 is when you a football coach has placed his stamp on the program.

I’m sure Harbaugh will have Michigan back to winning 10 or more games next season.

But it is interesting that Snyder (with what some consider a weak staff and average talent), had a better year in some regards (given how each team finished than Harbaugh =despite Michigan having more talent.

I don’t know, maybe the Legend can still coach a little. ;)
I'm going to go out on a limb and bet that Snyder/ K-State has a better season than Harbaugh/ Michigan in 2018.
Maybe if Michigan paid Harbaugh $8 million per year, they would win more.

And yes, I know that you can find coaches that had a better year than Snyder, but it is funny how Harbaugh was all that and a bag of chips...yet not so great this year.
