When a FCS team rises up and beats a FBS team, it's almost always a ranked FCS team.
North Dakota State was winning national championships when knocking off FBS schools.
Northern Iowa, App State, Youngstown State, ...etc...
Central Arkansas was ranked #15.
Was Liberty was the first non-ranked FCS school "EVER" to defeat a Power 5 conference team?
Not only was Liberty not ranked, but the Flames didn't receive one vote in the FCS coaches preseason poll.
Has there ever been a worst first game for a new coach at a Power 5 Conference school? Again, we are talking about Liberty.
It wasn't good for the Big 12, but at the same time, it couldn't have happened to a better school.
