So my boss is an ISU grad, and I was asking him his thoughts on the Hoiberg / head coach vacancy situation.
I was surprised to hear him say:
I was surprised to hear him say:
- Hoiberg was interviewing for NBA jobs at the end of the '13/'14 season
- Hoiberg interviewed for more than one NBA job this year
- Hoiberg's lack of enthusiasm on the bench during the game was more about him being uninterested than his concern about his heart condition
- Toward the end of the season, when ISU would get down a bunch of points and then come back, this was due to Hoiberg's lack of interest in coaching at the college level
- Just like many of us, ISU is realizing they are probably a stepping stone for most coaches
- ISU fans are pissed at him for saying he ran the offense he ran (which is supposedly an NBA type offense) to prove to the NBA he could be an NBA coach
- Generally speaking, ISU fans believe Hoiberg will be an NBA failure
- He believes Brad Underwood would be a great replacement
- ISU fans hate Hoiberg now LOL
