Here are some stats and thoughts through the first five games...

Nijel Pack is shooting 45% from three on nearly 6 attempts per game. What's more impressive about this is that few are coming through the O. Teams are trying hard at taking that away from Pack. He instead is hitting lots of three that he creates for himself off the dribble. Pack is a legit shooter and can fill it up in a variety of ways (catch and shoot, off the dribble, pull up, step back - you name it and he can do it shooting the ball). He is third on the team in assists with 2.4 per game. He also has not missed a free throw yet this year on almost 2 attempts per game. Pack also leads the team in FG per game at 11, 1.5 more than his next closest teammate (Nowell at 9.4).

Ish Massoud leads the team in mpg at 29.4. This has been an interesting stat to follow. Bruce has 6 dudes playing between 22-29 mpg (Massoud, Pack, Smith, McGuirl, Miguel, Nowell) and then the two centers doing what they can despite being limited. Despite his early rebounding struggles, he is up to 4.2 boards per game. His shooting has been less than advertised, but he has also not been getting lots of open looks through the O, either. Yesterday showed some growth - rather than force shots, he found open teammates for easy buckets a couple of times.

Markquis Nowell leads the team in a variety of categories... assists at 3.2 per game, steals at 2.2 per game, 2 pt FG makes per game at 3.2 per game, and free throw attempts at 3.4 (makes 82.4% of them). It is obvious he is a dynamic scorer. He can get buckets in a variety of ways in a hurry. He still struggles defensively off the ball through roaming, cheating, and over helping.

Mark Smith leads the team in rebounding at 7 per game. Rebounding is an area Bruce asked him to prioritize and he has definitely do so. Only playing 26.4 mpg, Smith would average 10.6 boards per 40 minutes.

Mike McGuirl leads the team in turnovers per game at 2.2, follwed by Pack at 2 and Nowell at 1.6. Mike was on the struggle bus majorly through the first couple games, but he seems to have regained form over the last few.
