Houston - where to stay?

Planning ahead for the Texas Bowl and don't know anything about Houston. Any recommendations on which part(s) of town to book a room within one hour driving distance to the stadium. Would prefer the suburbs. Recommendations on the north side of town for the drive back to Kansas? Aldine? TIA
