I know people love Collin Klein as a player and person and there were calls for younger coaching staff that could relate to younger players and recruit but the offense has definitely seen a drop off post-Miller. He was a key figure in game planning especially regarding the passing game and don't think that he didn't have eyes for what was going on with the rest of the offense. Klein is a young guy with much less experience just getting his feet wet. If we're looking for one big reason in the decline of our offense I'd conjecture that it's the loss of Miller (the old guy who needed to retire so we could have a fresh-minded young guy come in.) At least he was able to get us Skylar Thompson before he started "not recruiting."
I think we're also seeing the deficits of having a coach who seems to be a better recruiter than a coach (which is what people keep calling for.) Look at a guy like Deante Burton who apparently has at least borderline NFL talent but never seemed to reach that potential at K-State under Coleman. Look at Pringle's development, the dropped passes, and all the other problems with our wide receivers.
