Let's say we have a season. Let's say part of the "plan" is that players and coaches who are healthy but don't feel safe can voluntarily sit out. Let's say a key player or coach makes that decision.
I like to think I know how I would react, but I'm really not 100-percent sure. I want to believe I'd be all for them being their best advocate for their personal health and safety, and that I'd not think anything about it past that because I'm human, empathetic to someone who is faced with such a decision, and understand that, at the end of everything, sports really aren't all that high on a life priority list.
But, also since 1) I'm human; and 2) I love sports, I have a hunch my short-term feelings would be mixed - as horrible as that sounds as a justification for having mixed feelings about someone's choice about their potential health and safety.
Wondered how others are thinking about such things.
