I posted this in the Dimel thread but wanted to start a separate thread to see if there was more input.
What do you think of the idea of using Hubener as our "Wildcat" back for run heavy, short yardage, and goal line situations?
I could envision using him similar to the way Texas uses Swopes in their "18 wheeler" package. Last season Hubener scored 9 TDs on 20 goal line carries. His conversion rate on goal line carries was the best on the team. He is a pretty good sized player at 6'5", 211 pounds and runs with a decent amount of power and physicality. He is also a greater passing threat out of the position then Dimel, Jones, or any of our other backs. This would force defenses to give some respect to the pass and not allow them to load up too heavily in the box. Using Hubener in these situations rather than Ertz would allow Jesse to avoid some hits and abuse that are common in goal line and short yardage situations. This would hopefully keep his knees and shoulders intact.
