Hypothetical - Venables/HCIW

Something I've been thinking about after reading lots of threads and watching our defense be atrocious....what if Venables came on for next year as DC and HCIW and our defense was just as bad, or worse (maybe his philosophy doesn't work with our maybe-not-quite-as-good-athletes? Would people feel differently about him being the head coach?
