I was at the game back in the 70's when 20,000 pounds of bananas were thrown on the court in Ahearn. Both KU & KState were highly ranked and John Wooden was there as a sportscaster. A shinning moment for K-State and K-State basketball....
The result...a mess, and John Wooden said on the broadcast that he would never set foot at a K-State basketball game again.
Now....today we are getting all lathered up over screaming F-U at KU...We have heard that same thing for every at KU _ KState game for the last 50 years....but I will admit we have improved. Last year a huge majority of the crowd was into it and it came across loud and clear of the television broadcast. It wasn't the end of the world by any means, but it definitely wasn't my proudest moment as a K-Stater.
I don't mind the taunting and poor sportsmanship...but damn...just don't do such a GOOD JOB!!!
