near signing day. I was doing more reading into Walker from past updates in camps, etc.
Arkansas really liked him and would have taken him.
Mississippi State was undecided if he was an end or a LB and basically considered he and another prospect 1A and 1B. They offered the other kid thinking he was more of sure fit for what they were looking for and he committed.
LSU defensive line coach got after him really late and according to this article loved his explosiveness and quickness off the line but felt his frame might not be quite big enough for end.

I guess Walker is weight room strong and he is 240 now. That is plenty big for us the way we like our ends. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays this year and ultimately becomes one of the passing situation rushing ends along with or opposite of Lee. The college coaches seemed to love him as a pass rusher. If he proves to be a really good one early then we might be very difficult in passing situations with what should be a pretty solid secondary.
