than to come on here immediately after such an ugly loss, but call me a masochist. Hard to tell on TV camera shots if Jesse was missing open receivers downfield or if our WR weren't getting separation. If we eliminate a few stupid mistakes, (block in back on punt return that didn't make the play, penalties, drops and Jesse not putting the ball where the receivers could catch it on a few) and this game would have been a blow out in our favor. Those things are fairly easily corrected. The best part is our defense played lights out. Tanking and the four down lineman shut the run down all night! And it looked like Vandy had trouble all night with our pass rush, which I really thought would be a scary weakness before tonight. I'm not ready to bail on these boys. They will learn much from the areas where they struggled tonight.
Lastly, hate to ever blame anything on officials, especially when we played so poorly, but I would give $20 to anyone who can show me "indisputable video evidence" that Shurmur's knee was on the carpet before that ball came out. It doesn't exist. And that is just bad. I hope someone loses their job over that call, but I ain't holding my breath.
