Yes we are at opposite ends of the political spectrum. But I could not help but enjoy his ability to take the words of politicians and other political figures and use them against themselves. He occasionally turned them on particularly eggregious efforts of the left like Pelosi and was successful in doing so. I thought he was bright and articulate and very quick on his feet.
That being said he was first and foremost a comedian. Catilac used to say that the young got most of their news from him. I was shocked to find out that was actually true in a recent poll. That is probably not good, but there is no denying he was good at what he did, and he never denied and often said that he had a particular ideological point of view and was willing to own it.
