Knicks SF Michael Beasley believes that his talent is at the same caliber as LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
Beasley has averaged only 12.6 points and 23.5 minutes in his nine-year career, but he is convinced he can size up anyone in the world let alone James and Durant.
"[It's] mostly perception. As far as talent-wise, I match up with Kevin [Durant], LeBron, I match up with the best guys in the world," Beasley told Bleacher Report. "I'm not being cocky; it's just always how I felt. But I got into trouble as soon as I got into the NBA, and it left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths."
This was the latest of Beasley's outlandish comments since joining the Knicks. He joined SNY's Taylor Rooks on "Timeout with Taylor Rooks" where he wore three wrist watches: one on both wrists and the last one on his ankle.
"I'm just finding a new balance," Beasley said. "It's the new catchphrase. I don't have swag. I don't have feng shui. I'm not cool. I'm just balanced...If you see anyone with a watch on their leg, they took my balance."
Beasley is hoping for some balance in his first season with the Knicks as his career as been the exact opposite. He has had marijuana issues in the past -- and paired with defensive lapses -- has been all over the league throughout his career.
This season, though, Beasley will aim to channel the play he had in college at Kansas State that landed him the No. 2 overall pick back in 2008.
"I'll bring what they saw in college," Beasley told The Post's Marc Berman after signing his one-year, $2.1 million contract. "I just need the opportunity to show that. Look at my nine-year career, I've always been close to a point a minute. I've always been a walking bucket. Nobody can stop me, hasn't stopped me my last nine years. Every time I've touched the ball, the defender's scared. I'm at the point of my career I'm just tired of not getting the acknowledgement of being who I am."
