My Jeep Wrangler got smacked by a moron who thought it was a good idea to drive 60MPH + in a freak snow storm that made conditions rather icy in a big hurry this past Sunday.
Got the estimate back today. Repair is going to be just shy of 20K.
Certified Pre-Owned, would be worth about 47K.
Regular "used" would be 45K.
I'd like to look into a diminished value claim, cause the last time this happened to me (my truck), I got royally bent over on a trade in proposal (hence, the reason I have the truck to this day), and I'd like to get compensated for the hit I'm going to take.
Note, I'm not particularly upset that it's fixable, but would like to recoup some of the costs I'm going to eat over the next 2-3 months while the repairs take place, and the hit I will take on valuations in potential sales/trades in the future.
Wondered if anyone here could give insight or tips.
