I'm comfortable being called a "jerk, tool, idiot, etc.."

It's clear that people want to divide and label as many posters on this site as possible, so I figured I'd go ahead and label myself.

In the past couple days, I've read more people calling other people names than about any other time I can remember, and we've seen some fairly rough times on this board as time as passed.

Why people feel the need to constantly berate other posters who don't agree with them I'll never understand. From "piece of shit" to "jerk" or "tool", it's pretty embarrassing that you don't dare have a dissenting view without it being understood that you're an idiot who clearly doesn't know football...

You know what? I'm okay with that.

If it makes people feel better because they can't express their opinion any other way, then so be it. I'm happy to be called whatever people want to call me if it helps them relieve stress or frustration at what their reading/feeling.

What it won't do, is change how I feel about what I see in front of me or my overall opinions about this team.

This team has a lot of potential, that isn't being harnessed at the moment on both sides of the ball for one reason or another. It's entirely possible that this staff sticks around for several years and fixes it, but it's also possible they don't. It's also possible that another staff comes in and immediately turns this team into a 1-loss juggernaut, or goes 6-6 finding their way.

The only absolute certainty is that change is coming, and I want us to be in the best possible position when it does and have the best possible result from that change, as I think most all of us do.

Prepare your brains for change, and start thinking about how you'll cope with either outcome, all while hoping for the best for the team/university. And if calling me a jerk or POS that doesn't know football helps, then more power to you.
