The problem with the defense yesterday was over confidence in their athletic ability compared to LaTech.
1. Often times when they were in position to make a play they ran through and hit the defender, but didn't wrap up and ensure the defender was taken down. They thought they were stronger than LA Tech they weren't.
2. At times you really saw the young guys over pursue and be overly aggressive, from the backside, as opposed to maintaining assignments. They saw this early and thats why Driskel was able to kill us running, backside over pursuit opened up a different offense for them.
Now this is not to say the WHOLE defense was bad or that we suck. Guys like Britz, Geary, Lee, and Willis, we're awesome, they did some GREAT things. Guys like Wood, Bryant, Prewitt, were good at times but would abandon assignments and we got burnt for it.
I'm really hope our young guys learn from this. You can't think your automatically better than ANYONE in the Big 12 not even KU or you'll get bit.
