This is a fantastic, albeit really long, NY Times article from 2014 about a writer who followed a top echelon AAU basketball team for an entire summer.

It's titled "In Search of the Next Andrew Wiggins" and the biggest prize on the AAU team is Cheik Diallo. And as fate would have it, what do these two basketball players have in common? Both were at the top of their recruiting classes, both signed with KU, both were from the same AAU team, both stayed one year, and both shockingly signed huge shoe deals with Adidas immediately upon leaving school. Coincidence?

The entire article is about who will be the next Andrew Wiggins, which turns out to be Cheik Diallo. The writer says he learned during the process that it would take at least $125,000 to secure Diallo's services at the college he signs with. He also writes that he continually heard that "it will take Wiggins money to secure Diallo's commitment."

And to add to KU's list of incredible recruits, Joel Embiid was also another 5-star prize that signed with Kansas, and lo and behold, he signed a large shoe deal with Adidas immediately after leaving school.

Take 10-15 minutes to read the entire article and then ask yourself if you think Bill Self and KU are clean of these crimes.

I believe the writer of this story is schedule to be on with Kevin Kietzman on 810 WHB at 4:00 pm today.

I can't wait to hear what he has to add to this FBI case and the dirty, sleazy business of college basketball recruiting at the highest level, including Bill Self and Kansas.
