I compare HCBS term 1 & 2 and see the biggest difference being our recruiting success in term 1 versus our development process in term 2. Not that we haven't always had to develop and find the kids that could develop but we had more talent and I think a fully committed staff recruiting and winning recruits in term 1. Stoops boys, Vegtables, even Mangino recruited more as a staff not just two younger staff members. Even President Wefald was feeding them and selling the company line, (I know what he did wrong, just saying the committment to recruiting was really from the top down).
I was not optimistic about our chances last Saturday and if you had told me we were going to be in it with under 2 minutes to go, I would have taken the purple glasses from you. What was most galling about the whole game was the success in the first half that I didn't expect and the total lack in the second half. TWO WEEKS in a row.
