Maybe it is because the stands are basically empty at all of the events (except Soccer) but there just doesn't seem to be the excitement around these games like previous ones. The track stadium looks 80% empty tonight.
I don't know what other cities are competing against Los Angeles to host the 2024 games that will be selected next year but I have to think these Rio games will help LA's chances as well as any other city/country that has a proven track record selling lots of tickets.
