For years, it's been the gold standard. Avoid Wabash/Foundation after a loss in football or basketball. It's awful. Lately it seems like it's worse after a win. Just a bunch of posters trying to make everyone who ever criticized any aspect of the program eat proverbial crow because we managed to avoid one of the worst 4th quarter collapses in history. The "Bill Snyder and his methods are bigger than KState" crowd is getting a bit old, metaphorically and physically.
No, I don't remember how awful the 80s were, and i'm not taking for granted what KState football has become. But also I realize that even when one of the best head coaches in history was replaced by one of the worst head coaches in Prince, the program still went 5-7, recruited generally at the same level as when Snyder left and Prince took over. This program doesn't require Bill Snyder or his lineage to consistently compete in the top half of the conference. It requires a good hire to replace him (as would any program), but the fans and backing are already there.
One win over a good opponent, circumstances aside, does not cover up all the bad things going on with this staff and team right now. It starts right at the top, and win or lose, something needs to change.
