I'm not sure where we go from here. I mean the word WAS "beat Baylor and you're in" and, of course, we did. And we were in, and then not and who knows?

This game should have been a win. K-State can play with almost anyone in our league not named Iowa State. They're a bad matchup for some crazy defensive reason which I might entitle "Over-help defense ". In any case, our future would likely have included a loss after tomorrow but it would've been nice to get there.

The substitution pattern in this game was interesting and revealing. Isaiah Maurice was protecting the rim and cleaning the glass like I haven't seen since JO. Ervin was grabbing rebounds and chasing down 50-50 balls like I haven't seen since Steve Henson played. It produced an 8-11 point lead that dissipated in the second half as we put DJ back in the game and benched Ervin at the 10 minute mark never to return. Momentum ceased. Weber said after the game that they went with the guys with whom they'd felt comfortable all year. Now we may not make the tournament.

It's a shame.
