I am of the belief we will have multiple true freshman see the field this year. IMO the most likely will be Barnes, Walker, and Zuber.
Barnes - physically ready and offers some bulk and power to the running game. Seems like he might be ideal if for only short yardage situations.
Walker - weightroom strong with excellent pass rushing abilities. He also has some lead in the britches at 240 so it's not like he is a tiny DE.
Zuber - I find him to be the most intriguing. I think he is going to be very good. There are multiple reasons I see Zuber as a potential contributor right off the bat...
1) Snyder will play true freshman at wide receiver. He did with Lockett and Moreira.
2) There isn't a standout returning at wide receiver.
3) He played in a VERY run heavy offense at Stephenson. I don't know if he is a good blocker and I'm sure there will be plenty to learn when it comes to blocking but it won't be something foreign to him.
4) He is a larger target than his frame might indicate. He has LONG arms and is an excellent leaper (nearly 37" vertical at a combine prior to senior year). He also catches the ball away from his body and high points the ball like a veteran.
5) He is a receiver who can get separation. He has excellent quickness for a long and gangly receiver and has elusiveness to him. He is the type of athlete who can get open.
6) He is young for his age. He didn't turn 18 until mid April so he's very young for his class. I thought he looked quicker and faster from his junior to senior year highlights. I think he will take a leap in that physical development from his senior year of high school to his freshman year given his age.
