Not trying to be a major tease here, but I'll have Film Don't Lie finished and posted by tomorrow morning. It's kinda a beast, gonna be over 2,500 words, but to me a lot of interesting stuff.
Quick takaways:
Oh. My. Gosh.
K-State absolutely dominated the first three quarters of that game in a manner I didn't grasp at all watching from the stands. It easily could have been something like 31-7 going into the fourth quarter, and I really had no sense of that watching it live. If you're trying to be Pete Positive (and, yeah, I always am) people probably shouldn't change their opinions of K-State and its chances in the Big 12 based off of this loss.
Now, if you think K-State is going to make the same types of mistakes in further big games (dropped passes, untimely penalties and pressing in the 4th quarter after things have gone bad) - you should be worried and have every right to be. If you think those things were the exception, not the rule, you shouldn't leave this game thinking K-State is any worse that it was pre-game.
I thought K-State was a top 15 team going in and was going to win 27-17. If the Wildcats execute and play even kinda mistake free, they probably win something like 31-14. I don't know if this K-State team can and will play more disciplined going forward. But, if they do, they'll be just fine.
