For those of you that are x & o's guys, I have been wondering why Dimel hasn't added the Jet Sweep wrinkle for years. Yes I realize Dimel has been a "hot topic" and I was less than impressed with the 4th & 1 counter call that resulted in a 5 yard loss, however this wrinkle could have arguably been the difference last night.
We not only used the Jet Sweep motion to set up the QB lead play, but also actually gave it to Heath on the Jet sweep. This is just something defenses have to prepare for and how to adjust and Texas A&M did not look ready.
I am 95% sure this is the first time we ran the jet sweep to a slot receiver.
Just my two cents and hopefully something we can keep around for next year. We have not done a lot of motion or "window dressing" this year and loved it last night to set up our bread and butter.
