White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and President Trump are said to be “barely tolerating one another.”
Politico reported on Monday that Kelly, who was once seen as the person who would get a chaotic West Wing under control “has largely yielded his role as the enforcer…as his relationship with Trump has soured.”
The media outlet also states that, according to four people familiar with the chief of staff, Kelly “has told at least one person close to him that he may as well let the president do what he wants, even if it leads to impeachment — at least this chapter of American history would come to a close.”
That expression of exasperation is apparently not an isolated incident.
