that Whit Merrifield has been rated as the 4th best second baseman in the majors. 3 years ago on this board I stated that I couldn`t understand why he wasn`t playing with the royals at that time. He put on some muscle this year and has hit for power. 78 Rbi`s for a leadoff hitter who was in the minors for the first 3 weeks this year--fantastic. Sometimes You have to wonder about the politics of baseball and this doesn`t mean national politics.
