where thr Royals took 3 from the A`s. Very interesting towns, good baseball games high prices for everything. $50 a night to park the car at the motel, $10 for a hamburger, traffic in the city horrible. Outside of that it was great! Temperatures in the 50-74 degree range vrs. 110 in Phoenix.
The games were good, close and the A`s made mistakes at the critical times enough to make 3 victories a reality.
The Royals should try to purchase Scott Kazmier who has recovered nicely from TJ surgery. He was hitting 90-91 consistently and his control was great. He is also on the trading block as the A`s sink lower in the A.L. West.
I have dogged alex Gordon for some time because I thought he took too many pitches and got a called third strike too often. That thought lingers less now I would be the first to admit there is really something that s not telling from watching on TV. Gordo hustles all the time and is usually the first man to his position each inning. this guy is a real hardcore throwback player, likes dirt on his uniform.
Something else occurred there that I can`t shake from my memory bank, Gay Pride week. We drove by their parade on the way to the ball game and I can`t say I had ever seen a man wear a thong before. My wife commented,``I hope he doesn`t get sunburned.``Well it was colorful.
The A`s sponsored two special days, the KCa`s against the KC Royals, fans receiving a Charlie O the mule T-Shirt and a Billy Butler Country Breakfast Bowl. Fans got a bowl. A great weekend, although very costly.
