and it was very well done. Held at Wichita Marriott; 180 -200 cat fans; great dinner; lots of fan-friendly events up front. Speakers included Coach Snyder, Coach Weber, Coach Dibbini (women's soccer); Brian Osterman, one of the assistant women's basketball coaches; and, of course, AD John Curry. Also got some short bursts from Amy Button Renz, KSU Alumni Assoc. CEO; Don Linn, asst. dir. of K-State Bands; four football players and one basketball player. Event was emceed by Wyatt Thompson. Everyone was very well spoken. Particularly impressed with the five athletes (all seniors, I believe). Snyder was obviously the toast of the evening. Damn, he's impressive! First time I've seen or heard him in person. Did not talk about football; keyed on personal and group responsibility; believe he may have touched on all of his 16 points without actually saying "I'm talking about my 16 points." Curry too was superb. Lots of info and to the point. Audience was very receptive to his delivery and content. Weber (who spoke last) was a joy! No kidding, this guy impressed me as having his act totally together. All of you Weber bashers out there -- I think you are somehow missing his strengths; I sense that he senses that we're going to do very well this coming season. I'm hoping there are other attendees who will post their observations. Now, I'm pouring myself another glass of purple Kool Aide.
