I will have to back away from my Riggins comparison for Barnes. Riggo could flat out run when he got turned up field and his power was far beyond what Alex is showing. Some of the other older Cats can give their thoughts but I remember Riggo squaring and getting up field with great acceleration and force but Barnes seems to be more 'sudden' to me. Riggo almost seemed to 'skip or stutter step' till he saw a sliver to force himself through. Barnes seems to be able to read and just explode to full speed when he plants his foot. When I saw Riggins in person I believe he was a junior so maybe by then Barnes brings the load closer to the same way but I already think he is as fast and a more difficult target to get a clean hit on than the second best KU player I ever saw against the Cats. had the chance to see Gale sitting with the students to fill out the flash card section as a youngster. Sayers beat the Cats with one long run in what was a tight game but the man was lightening in a bottle.

Ertz w the WR group and now a real homerun threat in Barnes to keep D's honest makes this O exciting to think about. Bill and crew average plus 30 pts next year
