With the spread of the virus growing it makes you wonder how athletic departments are going to deal with it. The baseball team is out in the Bay area. Flying on airplanes, staying in hotels, eating out. Makes you wonder if they put strict guidelines in place for the team to follow? I heard on the broadcast tonight that Stanford limited attendance to the game to no more than 1000 tickets sold (4000 seat stadium). I think they said attendance was recorded at 800.

The women's rowing team just flew out to Sacramento today and will be competing there on Sunday. Then they plan stay in Sacramento for a week during spring break and train. I would think that would be higher risk than necessary especially since next week is suppose to be in the high 60's all week in Manhattan.

Even though there have been no cases reported in Kansas yet... will things be handled differently tomorrow at the basketball game and then on Sunday for the women's game? Reading online that the NBA is now making plans for possibly playing upcoming games in empty arenas with only necessary personal present just made me think. We have state basketball tournaments coming up across the state next week. Like I said no cases reported in Kansas yet but we all know that would last forever.

I noticed today just how much more empty the Dillons parking lot was and on a friday to boot. And the numbers of cars at the online ordering pickup point was much larger than normal. I had a doctors appt. yesterday and the clinic was practically empty at 1pm. Unheard of for that place.

Anyway I got off track... back to the original thought. Just curious what types of precautions the university and athletics are taking for whats probably to come?
