Seems like we are in on more 5.7/5.8 guys than we have in the last several years. I like the way it is trending. It got me to thinking ... what schools/teams that you could say we arguably compare to (no blue bloods) that we could target as a recruiting class standard that is improved but achievable? To me that would include teams that are always good for 7-8 wins and maybe get a double digit win season every handful of years. ISU doesnt quite meet this standard but they have been landing solid recruiting classes, IMO.
I looked at player ratings for three different schools for 2022 class and focused on 5.6's and higher. And I do realize that we have guys on the roster who were 5.5s/lower and are some of our best players, so there is that.
ISU 6.0/6.1 (0) 5.8/5.9 (4) 5.7 (7) 5.6 (4)
Iowa 6.0/6.1 (1) 5.8/5.9 (6) 5.7 (4) 5.6 (2)

It made me wonder what I could be REALLY happy with on an average year? Not sure how realistic this would be (but it sure seems like we are still in on some pretty highly rated dudes in 2023) ...

Seems like you could typically build a pretty strong roster from that.
Though we are seeing signs of improving on the recruiting trail, this type of class is still a ways from where we were in 2022:

Not sure why these other schools didnt have significantly more 5.6s as you think there are more prospects in that class. You would think that you could get traction there easier.
