6 games is roughly 20% of the season, so here are some of the major individual stats going into games vs Wichita State and Marquette. If you are checked out on Bruce and/or K-State basketball, this isn't the thread for you. It's fine, I understand. Really.
I'm one of the few (very few) who has been at every home game, so this isn't just running the numbers. If you still enjoy watching and have any hope for the season, my biggest take away so far is this; Mike McGuirl is no longer K-State's 1st or 2nd best option on the floor. He's also not 3rd or 4th. He currently is probably 5th and might be 6th if Ish Massoud ever gets things figured out. Honestly EZ or Bradford are probably higher, but I'm not counting the 5s that aren't major ball handlers here. The pieces on offense are much, much better than last year and probably the last 2 seasons. Defensive numbers are inflated a bit by poor 3 point shooting by the last 2 opponents, but K-State did hold Arkansas under 1.00 PPP, their worst offense this year. Tracking right now, K-State is edging on a top 50 defense and top 100 offense, a combo that usually gets Bruce to the tournament. The next week might be the final do or die week for some K-State hoops fans with games against WSU and Marquette, though I think most have made their decision on Bruce. Regardless, here are some numbers to look at.
